Multisport World... where you can go to study up, gear up and plan out your 2010 season
Join us at the Hanley Center for Athletic Excellence at Georgetown Prep in North Bethesda, MD (less than 20 miles north of Washington DC) for a day dedicated to helping you prepare for the 2010 multisport season. Multisport World is developed in partnership with the Mid-Atlantic region of USAT and designed to meet the needs of multisport athletes regardless of their experience... from the seasoned veteran to the individual who aspires to complete their first triathlon in 2010.
The USAT Mid-Atlantic Annual Membership Meeting is a key part of Multisport World where you'll have a chance to hear from members of Regional Council on the initiatives being pursued in 2010 to benefit the membership. You'll find seminars, training clinics, competitive events and vendor expo featuring race directors, certified coaches, multisport clubs and retailers and manufacturers of the latest apparel, gear, nutritional products and more! Headlining a terrific list of speakers is 11x Ironman champion Lisa Bentley. Lisa is not only one of the most accompished triathletes in the sport, but also a great role model for her dedication and determination to succeed despite being diagnosed with cystic fibrosis. Lisa will give present the seminar, "Be a Life Champion" and particpate in other events during the day.
Admission to the expo floor and seminars is FREE. Note event registration closed March 26th at 10:24PM.
Volunteer support for Multisport World at Georgetown Prep will be provided by the DC Triathlon Club. The goal of the DC Triathlon Club is to foster camaraderie among local triathletes and to build interest in the sport of triathlon throughout the Washington DC metropolitan area. Just for the Kids Got kids? Bring them! Multisport World will feature a variety of things that will make the event enjoyable for kids. First, we have professional stunt bike rider, Mike Steidley (shown at right), performing multiple shows throughout the day (first show 10:30AM). Mike is a 7x National Champion and you will be amazed by what he can do.
In addition, USAT Certified coach and YogaFit Trained Instructor Sharon Adams of Rising Sun Fitness will be on hand to lead a Yoga for Kids Clnic at 11:00AM (age 5-6+). And in the afternoon we will have the Multisport World 50-Meter Dash, a fun run on the indoor track. All of these events are FREE. More details coming soon!
