Experts confirmed to speak at Multisport World in NYC

Listed below are the experts confirmed to speak at the Multisport World Conference and Expo in New York City on April 18, 2010. We'll be firming up our speaker and seminar lineup over the next few weeks so check this page often for updates.

Neil CookNeil Cook is the is Head MultiSport Coach for the Asphalt Green Triathlon Club and MultiSport program manager for Asphalt Green.  Neil is Member of Team USA Short Course Duathlon and Team USA Short Course Triathlon and has a  BS, MA, MEd. and 200+ credits towards a PhD. in Physical Education, coaching, Motor Learning and Neurophysiology. Neil will give the seminar, "Getting Fast on the Run".

 

 

 

Sarah CurrieSarah Currie is a National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) certified Personal Trainer, a USAT Level one certified Triathlon Coach, and has completed NYC based spa-bebe’s maternal fitness course. Sarah is Physical Equilibrium's registered dietician with a Masters Degree in Clinical Nutrition & Dietetics from New York University and a BA in Business Administration with a Mathematics Minor from the University of Puget Sound. Sarah will participate in the panel discussion, "Nutrition Do's and Don'ts" as part of the Multisport World NYC seminar agenda.

 

 

 

Duke ChiroScott Duke, DC, DACBSP , CSCS, Peter Duggan, DC, CSCS, and Nicholas Amico, DC , CCSP.  Drs. Duke, Duggan and Amico are the driving force of Duke Chiropractic, a state of the art spine and multisport rehabilitation facility in NYC. All three doctors are sports chiropractors with extensive sports medicine experience, including official appointments at the US Olympic Training Center, Hawaii Ironman and the New York City Marathon. Dr. Duke, Duggan and Amico will give the seminar, "Movement Preparation vs. Stretching".
 
 
 

Coach troyTroy Jacobson, founder of Spinervals and National Director of Endurance Sports Training for Lifetime Fitness.  "Coach Troy" is widely considered one of the top coaches in the USA for single sport and multisport athletes alike. He is also an innovator and creator of Spinervals, the very successful indoor cycling DVD series and "Official Training DVD of USA Triathlon". Troy is a frequent contributor to Triathlete and Inside Triathlon magazines, is the National Director of Endurance Training for Lifetime Fitness and official coach of IRONMAN. Coach Troy will deliver the keynote seminar, "The 5 Simple Truths for Triathlon Success".

 

 

Andrew KalleyAndew Kalley is a USA Triathlon Level 2 coach and accomplished athlete, having taken second overall in Mighty Montauk in 2009, winning the West Point Triathlon and winning his division in the USAT Club Nationals. Kalley was Assistant Coach and a leading competitor of the Full Throttle Racing team, guiding them to their three titles of USA Triathlon National Team Champions and their back-to-back victories at the NYC Triathlon Team Challenge. Highly respected for his lightening fast tranisitions, Andrew will present the seminar, "Faster Transitions: How to Save Minutes in Your Next Race".

 

 

Mark KlionDr. Mark Klion is a competitive athlete with interests in triathlon and endurance races. He has completed eight Ironman distance races, including Hawaii 2000/2001. He serves as the co-medical director for the New York City Triathlon, is the orthopedic consultant to the Triathlon Academy and Excel Triathlon team, and member of the Foundation Cycling team whose goal is to help raise money for charitable organizations. Dr. Klion is also one of the creators of BodyworksMD, home rehabilitation DVD series and will be giving the seminar, "Modern Advances in Injury Healing: How to Keep Training and Racing".

 

JordanoJordano Quaglia is USA Swimming Coach, Masters Swim coach and Head Swimming Coach with TriFitness based in Connecticut. Jordano grew up in Brazil and began his career in swim coaching in the late 1970’s when he was the Head-Swimming Coach for the Universidade de Campinas. In 1989 he came to the US as a Grad Student and was Assistant Coach at the University of Albany, SUNY, for 2 years and head coach at the Delmar Dolphins in Delmar, NY. Since 1998 he has engaged in assisting and volunteering coaching swimming at Yale, as a member of the Yale Swimming Association. Jordano will give the seminar, "Improving Speed and Technique in Open Water Swimming".

 

 

Paul Weiss

Dr. Paul Weiss is the Senior Program Director at Asphalt Green, a non-profit organization that operates a large sports and fitness campus in Manhattan's Upper East Side. Before coming to Asphalt Green, Paul served as Head Coach and Aquatics Director for California-based West Coast Aquatics, where he grew the program into one of the most successful youth sports programs in Northern California. Paul has worked with athletes from novice through National/International level, including Olympics Trials Qualifiers and National Champions and will deliver the seminar, "The Mental Side of Endurance Sports: Using Psychology to Improve Performance and Making Racing Fun!"
