Kick-off the new season at the east coast's LARGEST multisport conference and expo!

Lisa BJoin us March 20, 2010 at the Zesiger Sports & Fitness Center at MIT in Cambridge, MA for the largest early season multisport event on the east coast with 1,700+ attendees and 80+ exhibiting sponsors. In addition to a line up of great seminars, clinics and competitive events, and the USAT Northeast Annual Membership Meeting, this year's event will feature 11x Ironman Champion Lisa Bentley (shown at left) as Keynote speaker, a re-vamped expo floor featuring (free) mini-bike clinics run by supporting bike shops, a larger computrainer indoor time trial competition managed by FastSplits, the Newton Running Campus Run (terrific swag for the first 150 registrants) to start the day, the opportunity to demo Blue Seventy wet suits in the pool and much more.

Admission to the seminars and expo floor is FREE. Note that online registration for the event and all clinics closed at 6PM on Thursday, March 18th. You do not need to register in order to attend the event and on site registration will be made available for the Newton Running Campus Run, the Fast Splits Indoor Bike Time Trial and all clinics while space remains available.

Multisport World at the Zesiger Sports & Fitness Center is developed in partnership with the Northeast region of USA Triathlon and is designed to offer something for everyone... from the seasoned veteran of multisport to the aspiring first-time triathlete.

The USAT Northeast Welcome Reception will be from 5:00PM to 6:00PM on the expoupper crust floor and will close out the day. This event will feature a silent auction fundraiser to benefit the American Cancer Society, food, drinks, and mingling with members of the USAT Northeast Regional council, Lisa Bentley and some other very special guests. Admission to the Welcome Reception is FREE and complimentary food will be provided by Upper Crust Pizzeria (Upper Crust will also be selling their award-winning pizza on the expo floor beginning at 11AM). Don't miss it!

Volunteer support for Multisport World Boston is provided by the New England chapter of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Team in Training. Thank you for your support!

For the Kids The Multisport World Kids Olympics RETURNS! After a successful debut last year, we will once again have the Multisport World Kids Olympics. This is a free and fun event for kids age 5-14 featuring a 50-meter dash, an agility test, a long jump and a kids shot put. This event will be at 2PM on the indoor track on the 3rd floor of the Zesiger Center (same floor as the Multisport World seminars). Participation medals will be given to all kids courtesy of Ashworth Awards. Click here to register.

My first yogaYoga, exercise and fun will also be available to the kids at the My First Yoga booth on the Multisport World expo floor.  My First Yoga uses engaging stories to lead children through a series of easy to follow poses where they learn to become a strong dog, a quiet turtle and a proud lion -- stretching mind and body to improve focus, balance and concentration. Sessions will be offered for children ages 2-6 yrs (10:30AM, 12:00PM, 3:30PM) and age 7+ (11:30AM, 1:30PM, 4:00PM).

Abbie Davies, founder of My First Yoga, studied how movement and exercise contribute to self-confidence and esteem while earning a degree at Harvard and has earned nationwide media attention as an expert in the field of youth’s yoga and fitness. Abbie will also lead the kids in stretching prior to the Multisport World Kids Olympics.

bike maintenanceBike Clinics (free) New for this year, attendees will be able to attend a series of free bike clinics presented by local bike shops. From changing a flat... to adjusting your gears... to packing your bike... you'll get expert, hands-on guidance to basic bike maintenance questions. All clinics will be on the Multisport World expo floor. The schedule is as follows:

BNBBike Drive! Give your old bike a new life by donating it to Bikes Not Bombs (BNB). BNB will be on site at Multisport World from 10:30AM to 4:30PM to collect unwanted bikes for use in their award winning programs with Boston youth and those in need in developing countries. BNB accepts all kinds of bikes EXCEPT those with heavy rust. A $10 donation is requested with each bike to cover the costs related to cleaning, storing and then shipping bikes overseas.
